SmartCutter produces huge files?

Post by petasis »

Hi all,

I have been using smart cutter for several years now. Recently I re-installed everything in my pc, and today I installed smart cutter.
It reports version 1.6.0. But it does not work correctly:

I open a clip of about 2.5 hours, which is about 5GB.
I create 5 segments from the video, as a batch job. When I execute the batch job, I am getting an output which is 14 GB, and duration of 6 hours.
At the same time, my 5 batch jobs are shown as 15 tasks, during transcoding.
How is this possible?

Is this a known bug? Is there a work-around?
Can I use an earlier version?

Regards,
George

Hm, it seems the problem relates to the change of the time line:

Dear petasis:
Thanks for your message.

From version 1.4.9 on, we made major changes to the UI, especially on the time line operation.
Now you can define multiple segments on the time line. So each time you 'add batch', these defined segments will be added into the batch list as a new item.

Yes the topic you mentioned explained the issue very well, you could also read

Please feel free to send us your further advice and suggestion.
Thank you very much.
