May be an incompatibility reason

I am using "Smart cutter" with .mts files produced by sony DSC-HX100V.
In editing by cutting and merging all files of the same type :

Code: Select all

ID : 4113 (0x1011)
Menu ID : 1 (0x1)
Format : AVC
Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
Format profile : High@L4.0
Format settings, CABAC : Yes
Format settings, ReFrames : 2 frames
Format settings, GOP : M=1, N=26
Codec ID : 27
Duration : 34s 760ms
Bit rate mode : Variable
Bit rate : 10.3 Mbps
Maximum bit rate : 16.0 Mbps
Width : 1 440 pixels
Height : 1 080 pixels
Display aspect ratio : 16:9
Frame rate : 25.000 fps
Color space : YUV
Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0
Bit depth : 8 bits
Scan type : Interlaced
Scan order : Top Field First
Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.264
...
I obtain a file of almost same type with two differences (at least) :

Code: Select all

ID : 4113 (0x1011)
Menu ID : 1 (0x1)
Format : AVC
Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
Format profile : High@L4.0
Format settings, CABAC : Yes
Format settings, ReFrames : 2 frames
Codec ID : 27
Duration : 20mn 35s
Bit rate mode : Variable
Bit rate : 11.6 Mbps
Maximum bit rate : 16.0 Mbps
Width : 1 440 pixels
Height : 1 080 pixels
Display aspect ratio : 16:9
Frame rate : 25.000 fps
Color space : YUV
Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0
Bit depth : 8 bits
Scan type : MBAFF
Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.298
The interlacing was modified from TFF (Top Field First) to MBAFF ?
and Bits/(Pixel*Frame) from 0.264 to 0.298

Is-it normal ?

Dear akiki:
Thanks for your message.

"... MBAFF ... Bits/(Pixel*Frame) ... Is-it normal ?
Yes, it is a correct H.264 video.

Please feel free to send us your further advice and suggestion.
Thank you very much.

Sorry to bump an ancient thread - I had this software about a year ago and just tried the new version (1.55) and it appears to be working great now! I just trimmed the snot out of a AVCHD 60p file recorded with the Sony A77. Loaded the file in Vegas 10.0 E and it appears to be working beautifully!

When was this finally fixed? Before I would get choppy frames, incorrect time codes, it wouldn't work in Vegas, etc. Now all appears to be well!

Thanks so much!
Shawn
