Inconsistent clips after transcoding

Hello,

I use Smart Cutter v 1.4.8 for joining .MTS files from Sony CX305 camcorder.
After joning there are delays or some incorrect frames between scenes in the result file.
Checked the file with Eac3to ("Check Container For Corruption" button in the Eac3to and More GUI) and got messages:
"The source file seems to be damaged (discontinuity)."
It seems that Smart Cutter incorrectly transcodes clips' first/last frames. It is very strange because the clips were not trimmed - i've just joined original clips.

Operating system - Windows 7 x32
Stream Fix, TME Mode Enable audio VU meter, TC 0 BASE are off in the options.
(i've played with these options but this did not affect the result).

Where could be the problem?

Could you please upload a video sample to our ftp server for a test?
It would be better if the sample file size is less than 100 MB.

If you can not find small sample, use this simple tool to split your movie file into small pieces, and upload any one of them.

before uploading sample, please create sub-directory with your name under the root, then upload sample to this sub-directory.

FULL priviliged --- mkdir, read, write, remove
Will be helpful to limit the sample file size under 100MB.

But we did not re-produce this on our end. We tried many popular hd video players(DXVA), including Splash, MPC HC, VLC etc, what is your video player then?

I use standard Windows Media Player (don't know which version it is - just native Windows 7 media player)
Tried to play the same clip on hardware media player - Asus OPlay HDP-R1 (firmware version: 01.39P). Scenes change correctly, but after (about 0.5-1s) very short blink noticed.

The same clip on another computer (Windows XP x32), by Windows Media Player v10, played ok.
So maybe some players/codecs are more error tolerant/forgiving, but obviously there is something in the clip.
(remember? - i wrote that eac3to detects some inconsistency)

Sorry for the latency.

The 'discontinuity' shown in eac3to was the result of Smart Cutter.

As you know, Smart Cutter only modifies tiny parts around the cut points to achieve frame accuracy, and we try to keep the leftover main parts un-touched. This will maintain the most original quality as the source movie, though it may generate the 'discontinuity' as you mentioned.

The result with the 'discontinuity' is still a valid and correct transport video stream. Video player conforming to the TS standard should treat it correctly. Since H.264 is much more difficult to decode compared to MPEG2, we'd recommend strong players such as Splash, MPC HC, or VLC for H.264 playback.

Further more, we managed to eliminate the 'discontinuity' by changing the whole video sample. You can download and try it on your end, see whether it helps

Step 1:
In Smart Cutter, use the 'Fix Video File' to process the sample, it will be saved as a new file.
Step 2:
Use TsMuxer to remux the fixed new file, we do not like this, since it will re-build and affect the whole video. It may lose some stream elements or lead to a/v in-sync some time.

Just tested the video on my HW player - Asus Oplay HDP-R1.
The short blinks are noticeable after scene change...
