Frames per second problem double

Post by Zakfr »

Good evening to you,

I was looking for a software to cut my source files (AVCHD - 1920 x 1080 - 50p - 28mbits).

I only founded Smart Cutter (smart rendering).

I tryed it. Looks really great.

But one ask :

When I open the source file on Sony Vegas for example, there are 3000 images. 50 images per second.

When I open the file on Smart Cutter and export it, then I open it on Vegas, all the specifications are the same except the FPS : I've the double of images : 6000, and 100 images per second.

Can you help me about that please ?

Thanks.

Dear Zakfr:
Thanks for your message.

'Frames per second problem double'
Please help us to show and identify the problem.
Have you ever tested the file in MediaInfo to check its actual FPS?

Could you please upload a original video sample showing the problem to our ftp server for a test?

It would be better if the sample file size is less than 50 MB.

If you can not find small sample, use this simple tool to split your movie file into small pieces, and upload any one of them.

-------------------------------------
before uploading sample, please create sub-directory with your name under the root, then upload sample to this sub-directory.

FULL priviliged --- mkdir, read, write, remove
Will be helpful to limit the sample file size under 50MB.
Thank you.

Thanks for your fast answer.

Your answer helped me : MediaInfo is a nice tool I didn't know, and with it i've see that the frames per second isn't edited with Smart Cutter.

On Adobe Premiere the smart cutter modified file is correct, on MediaInfo too, only Vegas changing the framerate from 50/sec to 100/sec, but I can edit that on Vegas.

However, I uploaded deux pictures from an original MTS video and the same exported by Smart Cutter, without anything done on the file :

On the Zakfr directory, files zakfr1.jpg and zakfr2.jpg

File 1 is source, File 2 source exported with Smart Cutter.

Why the exported file is a lil bit small (9s 538 > 9s 359), and 25mb/sec > 24.4mb/sec?

Thanks for your support.

Dear Zakfr:
Thanks for your message.

'Why the exported file is a lil bit small (9s 538 > 9s 359), and 25mb/sec > 24.4mb/sec?'
On cut points defined, there will be tiny re-coding(several frames) which may lead to small bit rate change. When a file opened, file start and file end will be the default cut points.

Please feel free to send us your further advice and suggestion.
Thank you very much.
