uploading video fragment to facebook fails

Post by Dick »

I am digitizing 8mm movies using a Sony DSC-HX1 Cyber-shot camera. It produces MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video. Cutting and joining with smart cutter works great! But, trying to distribute a relative small video fragment (1 minute, 46MB) on Facebook fails when performed on a Samsung Galaxy TABs tablet (Android version5.0.2.) The upload stalls and despite several attempts it is not possible to upload. The same fragment-upload to the same Facebook account succeeds when performed on the laptop on which also Smart cutter is installed. However it seems that the whole fragment is re-rendered in this action with considerable loss in quality.
Testing with a small video made, not adjusted with Smart cutter (so directly from the Sony camera), uploads without problems.
By the way: The fragment made with Smart cutter can be presented on the Samsung Tablet nicely.
Question: Is there another way to use Smart cutter made fragments to upload to(by) Facebook?

Uploaded without problems on the Samsung Galaxy TABs tablet (Android version5.0.2.)?

Looking forward to your further message.
Thank you very much.

Yes, indeed, uploading with the Samsung tablet succeeded with the fragment which was not made with the aid of Smart Cutter.

Dear Dick:
Thanks for your message.

Could you please upload a original video sample showing the problem to our ftp server for a test?

It would be better if the sample file size is less than 50 MB.

-------------------------------------
before uploading sample, please create sub-directory with your name under the root, then upload sample to this sub-directory.

FULL priviliged --- mkdir, read, write, remove
Will be helpful to limit the sample file size under 50MB.
Thank you.
