Size output file bigger then original file and strange time

Post by Nemesh »

Overhere I have a documentarie of "The Last Days Of Osama Bin Laden HD".
Recorded with a Humax 5200C settopbox from NGC HD.
The file extension is .TS and Smart Cutter version is 1.8.4
The file size of the original file is 8.6GB:

I start Smart Cutter and load the file:

Then I start to remove the commercials in the documantarie:
Select each time new start- and end-point and click add to bach.
The result are 4 points in the batch and I have enabled link (yellow) so that Smat Cutter merges the batch files together:

Then I click Start Batch!:

Smart Cutter shows the conversion box.
Then I see that it has 10 jobs !
What I think is strange because there are only 4 jobs.
In previous versions of Smart Cutter this didn't happen !

Image

Well I let Smart Cutter finish and the result is a file of almost 14 GB !
I think it should be smaller then the original 8.6 GB because I removed the commercials:

When I play the file in Windows Media player en I set the time line half way, Windows Media player shows that it already has played 7 hours and 15 minutes:

Are these problems/bugs in Smart Cutter ?
I will upload the file today to your FTP server.
Upload server very slow, will take about 44 hours to upload (my upload is max 15Mbit)
Files are splitted to 50MB, sub directory is Nemesh.
I will let you know when the upload has finished.
With much regards,

Dear Nemesh:
Thanks for your message.

From the new version 1.4.9 on, we made major change in cut operations. You can now define multiple segments on current time line, if you get some time, you may please read the usage.txt or the help doc, or
http://www.fame-ring.com/without.re-encoding.html

Or you can read
http://www.fame-ring.com/forum/viewtopi ... 8877#p8877

Please feel free to send us your further advice and suggestion.
Thank you very much.

Had to try it, but got it right.
You don't press "Start Batch!" anymore, but now you press the red record button.
In my case I also keep "link" yellow (on) and now the output file was 5 GB.
Still, the timeline is off.
When I start the 5GB file in Windows Media Player en set the slider half way, it says that it played 7 hours.
Is this correct or a bug ?
Do you still want the original file on the Fame-ring FTP server for examination ?
Hope to hear from you and with regards,

Had to suspend upload yesterday.
Want to resume todat from file 101 -> 166
But I see that only file 1 and 2 are on the server.
Did you delete the rest and do you need 101 -> 166 ?
